4. What is polarity?
In EDM, which raises the spark by applying voltage between the workpiece and the electrode, one of them is set as "+"(plus) and the other is "-" (minus).
Elements of this setting are called "polarity" in machining conditions. Setting of electrodes as "-" and workpieces as "+" is called "positive polarity", and setting of electrodes as "+" and workpieces as "-" is called "reverse polarity".
Appropriate "polarity" varies depending on materials of electrode and the workpiece and contents of machining.
